    General Procurement Notice (GPN)

    The Government of India has applied for financing in the amount of USD 438.75 Million (US Dollar Four Hundred Thirty Eight point Seven Five Million Only) from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) toward the cost of the Chennai Metro Phase II Project – Balance Corridor 5 and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, non-consulting services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

    The proposed project entails construction of a new corridor in Chennai’s metro system from CMBT-Sholinganallur. The construction of Chennai’s Phase-II Metro system would involve major components like – Construction of Elevated Viaduct; Construction of Elevated stations and Utility Management .

    Procurement of contracts financed by AIIB will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Policy and associated INTERIM OPERATIONAL DIRECTIVES on Procurement Instructions for Recipient (PIR) and is open to all eligible firms and individuals as defined in PIR.

    Specific procurement notices for contracts subject to International open Competitive Tender (IoCT) will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business online, on the AIIB’s external website and the website of CMRL i.e. http://www.chennaimetrorail.org and in one leading National English Newspaper and one International Daily paper.
