Construction of a new building

The European Commission is an institution of the European Union, responsible for proposing legislation, implementing decisions, upholding the EU treaties and managing the day-to-day business of the EU.

The European Commission, Joint Research Centre (referred to below as the contracting authority) is planning to award the contracts resulting from the above procurement procedure. The procurement documents consist of the contract notice, this invitation letter, the draft contract and tender specifications with their annexes. All documents are enclosed in the attached ZIP File.

The call for tenders is about the construction of a brand-new building which shall host nuclear safety, security and standardisation research and training activities. It includes civil construction works (prefabricated and on-site works) as well as related mechanical and electrical systems (solar panels included). The approved executive design already takes into consideration the environmental aspects related to energy efficiency requirements and relevant associated aspects such as choice of construction materials.
