Item Description:
The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).
Request for Expressions of interest
The Government of Kenya through Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) intends to implement the second phase of Nairobi Rivers Basin Rehabilitation and Restoration Program: Sewerage Improvement project (NaRSIP-II) funded by the AfDB in order to improve access to improved sanitation services from 48% to 60% in Nairobi city; while improving the quality of the Nairobi Rivers.
The consulting services (“the Services”) involve undertaking Capacity Building in Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) for the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) under the Nairobi Rivers Basin Rehabilitation and Restoration Program: Sewerage Improvement Project Phase II (NaRSIP II)
The scope of services for the Consultant will include but not be limited to:
(i) Conduct a thorough assessment of WASREB’s existing capacity in PPPs and identify specific training and capacity building needs.
(ii) Develop a comprehensive training program tailored to WASREB’s needs.
(iii) Deliver physical interactive training workshops and seminars to WASREB staff and provide practical case studies and simulations relevant to the water and sanitation sector in Kenya.(iv) To equip WASREB with skills on how to effectively evaluate, monitor, and regulate PPP initiatives implemented by WSPs and Water Works Agencies in Kenya.
(v) To equip WASREB staff with practical skills in the negotiation of PPP contracts.
(vi) To prepare WASREB staff to sit for the CP3P Certification exams by APMG International including booking and covering the costs for the exams
The consultancy services will be carried out over a period of 4 Months
Athi Water Works Development Agency now invites eligible consulting firms (“Consultants”) to indicate their interest in providing the Services. Interested Consultants should provide information demonstrating that they have the required qualifications and relevant experience to perform the Services.
