Item Description:
The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).
Request for Expression of Interest (EOI)
The Government of the Republic of Kenya has applied for financing from the AfDB to finance the El Wak – Rhamu Road (A13) Upgrading Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds for this loan to make eligible payments under the contract for the (i) Consultancy Services for Construction Supervision of LOT 1: Upgrading of El Wak – Gari (A13) Road (74 Km), (ii) Consultancy Services for Construction Supervision of LOT 2: Upgrading of Gari -Rhamu (A13) Road (68 Km).
The services included under both projects are for Construction Supervision of the roads and the social-economic infrastructure. The services will comprise each of a total of 48 Months with 36 months of construction supervision and 12 months Defects Notification period.
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), being the implementing agency of the Government of the Republic of Kenya now invites eligible consulting firms to indicate their interests in providing the above services.
Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, in similar conditions and availability of the appropriate skills among staff, etc). Consultants may constitute joint- ventures to enhance their chances of qualifications.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations”-August, 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. Borrowers are under no obligation to shortlist any consultant who expresses interest.
The Expression of Interest enclosed in plain Packages and clearly marked with the Tender Number and description, sealed and transmitted by courier or delivered by hand to the Address below or deposited at the Authority’s Tender Box Located at Block C, 2nd Floor, Barabara Complex so at to be received on or before 21st September 2021 at 1100Hrs local time.
