    Item Description:

    The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).

    Request for Expression of Interest

    The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has received financing from the African Development Bank (the Bank), towards the cost of Programme for Integrated Development and Adaptation to Climate Change in the Niger Basin (PIDACC/NB) in Nigeria and intends to apply part of the agreed amount to finance payment under the contract for the Technical Study, Detailed Design & Works Supervision for multipurpose infrastructure comprising of Dams, Ponds for livestock watering, Fingerling stations, Landing stage/Jetties and Irrigation schemes.

    The PIDACC development objective is to contribute to improving the resilience of the Niger Rivers Eco-system and populations through sustainable management of natural resources.

    The services included under this consultancy are to:

    a)  Conduct technical feasibility study;

    b)  Carryout Detailed Design and preparation of Bidding Documents; and,

    c)  Supervision of Works.

    The assignment is in support of construction/rehabilitation and managing complex projects in the area of water resources development of the following multipurpose infrastructure: Dams, Ponds for livestock watering, Fingerling stations, Landing stage/Jetties and Irrigation schemes, which will be carryout in the four (4) River Basin Development Authorities namely: Upper Benue, Upper Niger, Sokoto/Rima and Anambra-Imo.

    The FMWR through its National Programme Coordinating Unit (NPCU) now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interests in providing these services. Interested Consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (firm brochure, description of general work experience, verifiable job of similar nature, experience in similar condition in Nigeria and/or in sub- Saharan Africa, and availability of appropriate skills among staff). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.

    Eligibility Criteria, establishment of the shortlist and selection procedure shall be in accordance with the procurement policy for the Bank Group funded operation (Policy), October 2015 which is available on the Banks website at http://www.afdb.org.en/projectsandoperations/procurements/new-proedure-policy. Only shortlisted candidate will be contacted.

    The estimated duration of the assignment is Eighteen (18) months and the estimated starting date is 3rd May, 2021
