Design and supervision of twenty municipal waste collection centers

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).

The Government of the Gambia has received financing from the African Development Bank towards the cost of The Climate Smart Rural WASH Development Project and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this Grant to payments under the contract for Recruitment of a Consulting Firm for the design & supervision of twenty Municipal Waste collection Centers of the project. This Request for Expression of Interest follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for the above project which appeared on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet Website: http://www.afdb.org and in the United Nations Development Business Ref. AfDB1295-11/18 of 23rd November 2018.

The Consultancy service for the design & supervision of municipal waste collection centers has the following Main Objectives:

i)  Prepare a detailed engineering design of Municipal Waste Collection Centers in selected Wards within the municipalities of Kanifing (KMC) and Brikama (BAC).

ii)  Carry out supervision of the works. The services to be rendered under this Consultancy are to be carried out in two phases as follows:

1. Detailed Design of Municipal Waste Collection Centers (MWCC)
2. Supervision of works – Municipal Waste Collection Centers.

The Ministry for Fisheries and Water Resources invites qualified firms to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute Joint venture.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the AfricanDevelopment Bank’s “procurement Policy framework dated October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website athttp://www.afdb.org
