Design, Engineering, Provision, Erection, Commissioning & 2-year Maintenance of External Elevator at UNGSC (Brindisi, Italy)

The United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organization that was tasked to maintain international peace and security, develop friendly relations among nations, achieve international co-operation and be a centre for harmonizing the actions of nations. The headquarters of the UN is in Manhattan, New York City.

The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) seeks an appropriately qualified contractor for the Design, Engineering, Provision, Erection, Commissioning & 2-year Maintenance of External Elevator at UNGSC (Brindisi, Italy).

The main objective of this project is to provide and install an external elevator at a three-story building located inside the compound of the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) in Brindisi.

The works shall be conducted in the following phases:

• Provision of executive design by a qualified engineer;
• Safety Plan with all required documentation as per Italian safety laws;
• Operation and maintenance plan to ensure and maintain functionality, safety and efficiency of the installation over a period of ten years;
• Site preparation including all necessary materials, labor, equipment related to the jobsite and to the safety plan implementation in accordance with pertinent Italian laws;
• Demolition of sidewalk, removal of paving blocks, curbs, subbase and excavation as required for new foundation (stack paving blocks for reuse), removal of existing windows;
• Construction of foundation and pit;
• Miscellaneous masonry works;
• Provision and installation of elevator shaft (hoist way) and passenger elevator complete with all electrical works, connections;
• Site cleaning and Disposal of all construction waste;
• Testing and commissioning of the completed installations;
• Monthly maintenance services for a period of two years.

The Contractor shall provide all necessary material, tools, equipment, services, labor, and vehicles required for this project, and will be responsible for providing all that is necessary to fulfill its contractual obligations, including all submittals and certifications.

Interested companies should have the proven ability and extensive experience of not less than five years in the provision of similar services. The service is to be provided in Brindisi, Italy. The successful Company shall comply with labor laws and regulations applicable to the specified trade, and shall provide evidence of a) Company’s Specific Experience in contracts concerning elevator installation successfully completed in the last five years with evidence of experience; b) business registration as an elevator installer for the past three years with an official business registry from the company’s country of origin (e.g. in Italy, Camera di Commercio, Industria, Artigianato e Agricoltura – C.C.I.A.A.).
