Procurement of Fog Type Insulators with RTV Coating for 500kV Transmission Line

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Islamic Republic of Pakistan has received financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) toward the cost of Second Power Transmission Enhancement Investment Program – Tranche 3. Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named above. No nationality restrictions apply, other than any restrictions arising from ITB 4.8.

The National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC, “the Purchaser”) invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Procurement of Fog Type Insulators with RTV Coating for 500kV Transmission Line. The contract mainly includes supply of Fog type RTV Silicone Rubber Coated Porcelain Disc Insulators of 160 kN & 80 kN E&M strength with clevis & tongue coupling, as detailed and specified in the Bidding Documents. Delivery period is 180/210 days for FOB/CIF or EXW Pakistan respectively from the date of contract signing.

International competitive bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single- Stage: One-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all bidders without nationality restrictions.

Only eligible bidders with following key qualifications should participate in this bidding:

Successful completion as main supplier within the last 10 years, of at least 1 contract valued at US$ 4.0 million with nature, and complexity similar to the scope of supply described in Section 6 (Schedule of Supply). The Supplier / manufacturer must have, at least 5 years’ experience of manufacturing / supply of identical goods / material with same or higher rating and capacity and 3 years satisfactory operational experience of such goods / material. The bidders, who are not manufacturers themselves, shall furnish an authorization from the concerned manufacturer to submit a bid for supply of their goods to Pakistan against this tender. Moreover, 100% quantity of Equipment / Goods covered in the respective lot should have been manufactured & supplied in any 1 year (continuous period of 12 months) during the last 3 years by the manufacturer of that Equipment / Goods as of the bid opening date.
