Item Description:
This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) No. AfDB 1304-12/16 of 11/08/2016, and on the African Development Bank’s Internet Website (www.afdb.org).
The Government of Republic of Uganda has received for a loan from the African Development Bank ADB in various currencies towards the cost of Multinational Lake Victoria Maritime Communication and Transport Project (MLVMCTP). It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan/financing will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Procurement of Nine (9) no. Weather (Meteorological) Buoys.
The Ministry of Works and Transport now invites sealed Bids from Bidders for the Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Nine (9) no. Weather (Meteorological) Buoys which will be of fixed types at nine (9) (selected landing sites on our water bodies of Lakes Victoria, Kyoga and Albert for purposes of providing real-time the weather forecasting at the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) and Search and Rescue Centre’s (SARs) (hereinafter called “the Facilities”) in Entebbe. International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank’s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works, and, specifically, through “Single Stage” Bidding Procedures.
Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the address below.
A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon the submission of a written application to the said Executing Agency, and upon payment of a non- refundable fee of non-refundable fee of UGX 100,000 (One Hundred Thousand Uganda Shillings). The method of payment will be through the Bank using Bank advice forms available and can be picked from the Ministry’s cash office
The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are those of the Bank’s Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Plant Design, Supply, and Installation.
Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 11:00 Hrs. on 28th August 2020 and must be accompanied by a Bid Security of USD 30,000 (United States Dollars Thirty Thousand only)
Bids shall remain valid for 120 days after the deadline for bid submission prescribed above.
