    Item Description:

    The Office of Supply Chain Management (OSCM) is responsible for the operationalization and management of the Organization’s end-to-end supply chain and is comprised of pillars and functional units, including, the Logistics Division, Procurement Division, Uniformed Capabilities Support Division, the Enabling and Outreach Service, the Aviation Safety Section, the Global Service Centre (GSC) in Brindisi, Italy as well as the Office of the Assistant Secretary-General. OSCM supports the Secretary-General’s vision of operational excellence through ensuring an agile and nimble supply chain that delivers what clients need, where they need it, when they need it and at the best possible price.

    Objectives:

    The Office of Supply Chain Management would like to engage with an academic institution or a professional body on the commission of an external, independent study to understand where the supply chain is going in both the public and private sectors in the next five to ten years as well as understand how well the current structure of the United Nations supply chain fits within the industry practices with the aim of:

    • proposing an implementable strategic vision for the United Nations supply chain for the next five to ten years;
    • identifying practical steps that the United Nations should be taking to achieve the vision;
    • defining strategic objectives for high-performance supply chains;
    • establishing a governance structure to accelerate improvement;
    • defining and integrating key best practices necessary to achieve objectives;
    • engaging senior leadership through collaborative interaction;
    • improving the ability to assess and meet diverse client needs through client segmentation and demand profiling, among others;
    • identifying opportunities for enhancing collaboration with stakeholders (including other UN system entities) enabling potential partnerships and scaling of successful initiatives;
    • defining concrete steps to build competitive advantage over other service providers; and
    • generating a constructive dialogue over future visioning of the Secretariat supply chain operations.

    Not for profit entities do not need to register in UNGM thus no UNGM Vendor ID Number is needed to respond to this RFI

    The United Nations is looking for information in the following areas:

    • A brief general description of academic institution or professional body, its structure, school or other sub-organizational unit dealing with similar studies;
    • Brochures or principles for engaging with non-profit sector;
    • A list of up to three most recent studies in the areas of supply chain management;
    • A list of up to three most recent studies cooperating with or engaged by government or international organizations or equivalent;
    • Available pricing models for the study and as well as range of rates (e.g. daily rate, hourly rate, fix price).
