Item Description:
The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) has identified a requirement for the establishment of a long‐term contract for the Provision of Installation and Repair Services of Vehicle Management Systems, VHF/UHF/HF Radios, GPS Tracking Systems, and other automotive vehicle accessories fitted to United Nations (UN) vehicles and equipment, and the Supply of automotive miscellaneous accessories and components.
The provision of the Services and the supply of Goods will be based on an “as and when required” basis to the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC), Piazza del Vento 1, 72100, Brindisi, Italy.
The requirement is for a highly qualified, experienced, and specialized contractor in the automotive field of vehicle systems installations, repair services for the related systems and the supply of miscellaneous accessories and/or components for the installation or to be supplied on their own. The principal tasks are as follows:
1) Services – Installation, De-Installation, Fault Diagnosis & Repair
- Installation of Vehicle Management Systems.
- Installation of Vehicle Communication Equipment-VHF/UHF/HF Radios.
- Installation of Vehicle Communication Equipment-Satellite Phones.
- Installation of Vehicle Tracking Systems.
- Installation of Vehicle Accessories-Flag Brackets, Lighting Systems.
- Fault Diagnosis and Repair of Systems.
- De-installation of Equipment/Systems/Components.
2) Goods – Miscellaneous automotive accessories and components
- Tie Straps.
- Electrical Cable-single core, twin core, four core etc.
- Switches-Push button, toggle, rocker etc.
- Relays-Micro, Mini relays etc.
- Electrical Fuses.
- Electrical Fuse Holders.
- Cable Protection.
- Vehicle Trim Clips.
- Electrical Insulation Tape.
- Soldering Wire.
- On-Board Diagnostic II (OBD-II)
The successful Contractor will be tasked and then supplied with a system/s to install, e.g., VHF/UHF/HF Radio, Vehicle Management System, Vehicle Tracking System and/or a combination of systems from UNGSC’s warehouse; the successful Contractor will provide all the necessary technical manpower and hand tools (standard/specialized) to carry out the stated works indicated above.
Any electrical or hardware miscellaneous items, such as cable ties, clamps, fuses, nuts, bolts, washers, and electrical wire, that are not supplied in the system kits will be furnished by the Contractor.
The successful Contractor will install the system within the vehicle, in which various internal components/pieces of the dashboard, cockpit, seats, interior and roof panels will be required to be removed for the operating system to be fitted below/behind these specific pieces to complete a clean and professional installation, leaving no visible wiring of any nature.
The installation of the system will be discussed and identified prior to installation, to agree on the behind the dashboard positioning of components or below seats depending on the system and how the wiring etc. will be routed within and around the vehicle, this will also include the routing for the antenna and cabling.
All related works will be performed at UNGSC, Brindisi, Italy workshop facilities.
The resulting Contract will be established for an agreed initial period of three (3) years, with the UNGSC’s sole option to extend the term of the contract, by mutual consent, for two (2) additional periods of one (1) year each (3+1+1) for a maximum five (5) year period, subject to the UN’s operational requirements and Contractor’s satisfactory performance.
Full technical requirements and administrative instructions will be provided with a solicitation document to be issued at a later stage after the closing date for this EOI.
