Provision of Online Coaching and Career Training Development Services for OCHA Learning and Development Unit (LDU) – UNOCHA

Ensuring that OCHA has a diverse, gender balanced workforce that actively represents the global footprint of the organisation is a stated aim of the OCHA People Strategy and supports the Secretary General’s Strategy on Gender Parity. For this reason, national professional women have been identified as a key group to develop as a diverse pipeline of skilled talent for OCHA’s international professional workforce.

As part of OCHA’s efforts to promote national women in their careers, a number of initiatives have already been undertaken and which provide the groundwork for this requested service. In particular, the need for such services has been widely reinforced through consultations across the organization including national women staff and managers. The proposed coaching, fellowship, and group mentoring services under this requirement will multiply and expand these efforts.

The overall objectives of this initiative is to promote national staff career development, and additionally contribute to the achievement of the UN System’s efforts to reach gender parity and increase geographic diversity in the international workforce. Dedicated online career coaching and support is thus required for OCHA national professional women to help them progress in their career, with a view to supporting them to transition into international careers within the UN and the humanitarian sector.
