The Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative (StAR) is a partnership between the World Bank and UNODC that supports efforts of policymakers and practitioners to return stolen assets, remove barriers to asset recovery, and take measures to prevent laundering of proceeds of corruption.
StAR is a center of expertise on international asset recovery and StAR’s publications are valuable resources for policymakers and anti-corruption & asset recovery practitioners, civil society organizations, and interested members of the public.
The StAR website is critical for StAR to communicate & promote its activities internally and externally to policymakers, anti-corruption & asset recovery practitioners, CSOs, and donors. The website contains information about StAR, about related international and multilateral events and meetings, and hosts various resources related to the recovery and return of proceeds of corruption, including a database of international asset recovery cases and corruption-related settlements.
