    Item Description:

    The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

    ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

    The Government of Nepal has received financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Melamchi Water Supply Project. Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.

    The Melamchi Water Supply Development Board-MWSDB (“the Employer”) under the Ministry of Water Supply and Sanitation, Government of Nepal, invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the construction and completion of the Works known as:

    “Supply, Installation and Construction of Tunnel Remaining Works of the Melamchi Water Supply Project, Melamchi Diversion Scheme, Contract MDS/DT/02- Package 2”

    The scope of works shall be inclusive but not limited to the following activities:

    • Construction of Permanent Supports for already completed tunnel
    • Construction of Reinforced Concrete Invert lining in the water diversion and Adit tunnels
    • Provision and Installation of Rock Dowel Support and Shotcrete works inside the tunnel
    • Maintenance of access roads to all tunnel exit portal at Sundarijal and adits in Ghaythum
    • and Sindhu Site
    • Rehabilitation of Existing Access Bridge at Gyalthum Site
    • Operation and Maintenance of all Camp Sites & Facilities
    • Coordination with other Contractors/Subcontractor:
      • Hydro-mechanicalWorks(Gates)
      • De-aerationWorks(VentShafts)
      • Supply and Installation of SS Pipes, PVC, Valves and Fittings.
      • Installation of DI Pipes with connection to SS Pipe at Sundarijal Outlet. o Design and Installation of Pipe Support at Sundarijal Outlet
      • Instrumentation
    • Other Miscellaneous and Allied Works; and
    • Testing, Commissioning and One (1) Year Operation and Maintenance

    Time for Completion: 12 months (365 Calendar Days).

    National Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single-Stage: Two-Envelope procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries as described in the Bidding Document.
