    Item Description:

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child in everything we do. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories to translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefitofallchildren, everywhere. ThefundamentalmissionofUNICEFistopromotetherights of every child, everywhere, in everything the organization does — in programs, in advocacy and in operations. The equity strategy, emphasizing the most disadvantaged and excluded children and families, translates this commitment to children’s rights into action. For UNICEF, equity means that all children have an opportunity to survive, develop and reach their full potential, without discrimination, bias or favoritism. To the degree that any child has an unequal chance in life — in its social, political, economic, civic and cultural dimensions — her or his rights are violated. There is growing evidence that investing in the health, education and protection of a society’s most disadvantaged citizens — addressing inequity — not only will give all children the opportunity to fulfil their potential but also will lead to sustained growth and stability of countries. This is why the focus on equity is so vital. It accelerates progress towards realizing the human rights of all children, which is the universal mandate of UNICEF, as outlined by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, while also supporting the equitable development of nations.

UNICEF vaccine procurement is guided by the principle of vaccine security: the sustained, uninterrupted supply of affordable vaccines of assured quality.

UNICEF is seeking comprehensive and innovative proposals from developers and manufacturers of Malaria Vaccine for the sustained and uninterrupted supply of affordable Malaria Vaccine of assured quality, starting from January 2023 through December 2026, with possibility to extend the tender period by up to two additional years, through 2028.

Bidders are invited to submit proposals for formulations and presentations of the Malaria Vaccine they intend to make available for supply through UNICEF.

As a result of this RFP, UNICEF will work with selected manufacturers to establish long-term arrangements that best meet the objectives of this tender. These arrangements will provide the basis on which Purchase Orders (POs) are made for specific vaccine deliveries through the period.
