Construction of Buikwe Piped Water Supply & Sanitation System

The Government of Uganda has received financing from the African Development Bank hereinafter called the Bank toward the cost of the Strategic Towns Water Supply & Sanitation Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Construction of Buikwe Piped Water Supply & Sanitation System.

The Ministry of Water and Environment now invites sealed Bids from Bidders for Construction of Buikwe Water Supply & Sanitation. The works include construction of raw water intake structures, conventional water treatment processes, electro-mechanical installations, storage reservoirs, brake pressure tanks, steel pipe transmission mains and plastic pipe distribution pipe network. The construction period shall be 15 months.

Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (International), OCBI procedures as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework, dated October 2015, and is open to all Bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.

Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from the Ministry of Water and Environment, Head Procurement and Disposal Unit, email: pdu@mwe.go.ug, and inspect the bidding document during office hours, 08:00hrs to 17:00hrs, at the address given below.

A complete set of bidding document in English may be purchased by interested Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of UGX 100,000/=. The method of payment will be by bank advice form which may be obtained from the Uganda Revenue Authority (Website or Offices). Payment can be made in any bank and the payment details presented to the Procurement and Disposal Unit before obtaining a copy of the bidding document. No cash will be accepted. The document will be obtained from the Procurement and Disposal Unit.

The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Works.
