Construction of three (3) boreholes

Welthungerhilfe has been operating in North Darfur, Sudan since 2004 implementing humanitarian assistance and developmental projects with its country office located in Khartoum, Street 25, Al Amarat New Extension, Block 12HE, House 8. Welthungerhilfe receives its funding from the Federal German Government, the European Union, USAID/OFDA, the United Nations and many other worldwide recognized donors.

Within the scope of its project code number SDN 1156, Welthungerhilfe received funding from the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) in October 2018 to construct 3 new generator powered boreholes equipped with elevated water storage tanks, water distribution points, tap stands, pipes and water trough in support of South Sudanese Refugees hosted in Al Lait locality in North Darfur and the most vulnerable host community members as a humanitarian assistance to enable them have access to safe and clean drinking water. Welthungerhilfe will implement the project in partnership with Voluntary Corps Organization for Development (VCOD) which is registered in Sudan as a National Non- Governmental Organization, and in close coordination with the State Water Corporation, Ministry of Health, WASH Sector, Commissioner for Refugees, Humanitarian Aid Coordination and UNHCR.
