Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of New Khimti – Barhabise 400 kV Transmission Line (Rebidding)

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Government of Nepal has received a financing from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Electricity Transmission Expansion and Supply Improvement Project. Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named above. This contract will be jointly financed by the Government of Norway. The eligibility rules and procedures of ADB will govern the bidding process. Bidding is open to bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

The Nepal Electricity Authority (“the Employer”) invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of New Khimti – Barhabise 400 kV Transmission Line (“the Facilities”).

International Competitive Bidding (ICB) will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single-Stage: Two-Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible countries as described in the Bidding Document.

Bidders shall have minimum average annual turnover of US$ 28 Million within the last three (3) years. Bidders are required to have satisfactory experience in at least two (2) contracts with 400 kV and/or above Voltage Transmission Line within the last seven (7) years, with a value of at least US$ 22.5 Million for each contract.
