Procurement of Plant – Design, Supply and Installation Power System Reliability Strengthening Project – Package 4: 220kV and 132kV Transmission Lines

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world.

ADB assists its members, and partners, by providing loans, technical assistance, grants, and equity investments to promote social and economic development.

The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka has applied for financing from the ADB toward the cost of Power System Reliability Strengthening Project (PSRSP). Part of this financing will be used for payments under the contract named above. Bidding is open to Bidders from eligible source countries of the ADB.

The Ceylon Electricity Board (“the Employer”) invites sealed bids from eligible Bidders for the Procurement of Plant – Design, Supply and Installation of Power System Reliability Strengthening Project – Package 4: 220kV and 132kV Transmission Lines with the following details:

Construction of:

• New Habarana – New Anuradhapura 220kV Transmission Line: 46 km
• Double In & Out Connection from New Habarana – Veyangoda 220kV Transmission Line to Mirigama GSS: 1.5 km
• Kukule – Kalawana 132kV Transmission Line: 16 km
• Single In & Out Connection from Katunayake – Bolawatta 132kV Transmission Line to Negombo GSS: 0.5 km

Completion period is 730 days (from the Contract Effective Date).

InternationalCompetitiveBidding(ICB)will be conducted in accordance with ADB’s Single-Stage: Two Envelope bidding procedure and is open to all Bidders from eligible source countries as described in the Bidding Document.
