Item Description:
The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) or Banque Africaine de Développement (BAD) is a multilateral development finance institution. The AfDB was founded in 1964 and comprises three entities: The African Development Bank, the African Development Fund and the Nigeria Trust Fund. The AfDB’s mission is to fight poverty and improve living conditions on the continent through promoting the investment of public and private capital in projects and programs that are likely to contribute to the economic and social development of the region. The AfDB is a financial provider to African governments and private companies investing in the regional member countries (RMC).
Invitation for Bids (IFB)
The MoI intends to apply for financing from the African Development Fund (ADF) hereinafter called the Bank toward the cost of IAIPSP, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for the procurement of Workshop Equipment for 6 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Colleges. For this procurement, the borrower (MoI) shall process the payments using the Direct Payment disbursement method, as defined in the Bank’s Disbursement Guidelines and Procedures for Investment Project Financing, except for those payments, which the contract provides to be made through Letter of Credit.
The MoI now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the supply of various processing lines packaged under 10 separate lots listed under paragraph 7 below. At their discretion, Bidders may choose to Bid for one or more lots. The processing lines are to be delivered to the TVET colleges at Burie, Bahir Dar, Batu, Negele Arsi, Yirgalem and Daye.
Bidding will be conducted through Open Competitive Bidding (International), (OCBI) method as specified in the Bank’s Procurement Framework and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.
